Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, he began his career at Combined Insurance Co. of Chicago before joining Blue Cross Blue Shield, where he played a key role in the development of their Medicare Advantage business. Today, Mario leads strategic initiatives at VBC Associates, helping to expand value-based care solutions across the organization.

He has held key roles at leading organizations including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Weill Cornell, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, and ilumed. Throughout his career, Charlie has consistently driven revenue growth and enhanced Medicare risk and score accuracy through his expertise in coding, risk adjustment, and clinical documentation improvement.
